GWI’s Wellness Moonshot goes global, reaching six million people around the world

The Wellness Moonshot Calendar is like a seed, it will be planted somewhere and then it will grow into something really spectacular
– Jessica Jesse

In 2017, the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) launched the Wellness Moonshot initiative – a global commitment by the GWI to eradicate preventable, chronic diseases.

GWS chair and CEO, Susie Ellis has announced that the initiative is now reaching over six million people worldwide and has expanded its global presence.

The GWI launched the Wellness Moonshot with a focus to educate the public and private sectors about preventative health and wellness. It provides monthly content and creates events and workplace activities, all focused on prevention.

In 2020, the GWI made strides to extend the initiative’s reach by forming strategic alliances with three international business leaders in China, India and Israel, plus it kicked off a partnership with Prevention magazine to help spread the word in the US.

In support of the Wellness Moonshot, Jessica Jesse, CEO of BuDhaGirl, created the Wellness Moonshot calendar, a hanging calendar and monthly resource to help people create a culture of wellness within their organisation, community and home, providing them with actions, resources and information to inspire a culture of wellness.

On day two of the 2020 GWS, Jesse and Ellis unveiled the GWI’s Wellness Moonshot Calendar’s new look for 2021, which uses colour-blocking to provide a fresh and optimistic feel.

“The 2021 Moonshot Calendar is bold, bright and simple to understand, and I hope it motivates people. It’s like a seed, it will be planted and will grow into something really spectacular,” said Jesse.

“It will start out by teaching simple self-care but then we hope this will eventually be instilled into people to help them extend it to their family, teams and community.”
