Aysun Mut named spa director at ESPA Life at Corinthia

by Jane Kitchen | 07 Jun 2017

The Corinthia London has named Aysun Mut spa director for the flagship ESPA Life at Corinthia spa. She replaces Laura Vallati, who has left the company.

In her new role, Mut will will be responsible for guiding the operation and strategy of ESPA Life, “ensuring that the spa embodies the five-star luxury standards of Corinthia Hotels’ flagship property and building on ESPA Life’s global reputation as the pioneer of a new generation of spas,” the company said.

Mut has held the post of interim spa director for Corinthia, where she has worked for seven years. She has a passion for wellbeing and has contributed at executive level in overall strategy for ESPA Life at Corinthia.

“I am delighted that Aysun is taking the lead of our Espa Life Spa,” said says Corinthia Hotel London managing director Thomas Kochs. “Aysun is not only bringing a wealth of experience in leading large teams, but also a professional and personal passion for spas, health, wellbeing and the concept of mindfulness. She will be a great asset to what is a key facility in the hotel, and I am sure will succeed in keeping our ESPA Life Spa and Daniel Galvin Salon at the forefront and very top among all London spas and salons.”

Joining Corinthia Hotel London in the pre-launch period, Mut played a key role in the hotel opening team and was instrumental in establishing the hotel’s extensive food and beverage offering. For the last four years she has held the senior role of director of food and beverage at the hotel.

Sue Harmsworth chair and founder of ESPA, said: “A wellbeing philosophy underpins everything we do at ESPA. I am confident that ESPA Life will continue to flourish under Aysun’s direction.”

Mut commented: “I’m looking forward to taking on this important role at Corinthia Hotel London, particularly in light of the trends towards wellbeing, mindfulness and achieving a work/life balance. These are all areas of specialism at ESPA Life.”
