ESPA Life at Corinthia debuts new Nurture & Support programme in partnership with Wellness for Cancer

by Jane Kitchen | 23 Oct 2016

ESPA Life at Corinthia has teamed with nonprofit Wellness for Cancer to create a new collection of face and body rituals.

The flagship ESPA Life at Corinthia will be the first hotel spa in London to launch the Nurture & Support programme, which will include four face and body experiences designed to help relax, nurture and support guests who are dealing with cancer.

The programme is underpinned by an extensive training programme and will be made available to select ESPA spa partners around the world that meet the required criteria.

“We are honoured to host this innovative, carefully-crafted programme,” said Laura Vallati, spa director at ESPA Life at Corinthia. “Following extensive training of our most advanced therapists, the ESPA Nurture & Support rituals combine gentle, calming experiences in our soothing surroundings with a dedicated focus on holistic wellbeing.”

In addition to the four core experiences, ESPA is offering two enhancements that focus on the hands or feet, as well as breath work and meditation.

The ESPA Nurture & Support programme involves in-depth therapist training and assessment over seven days, incorporating two days by Wellness for Cancer and five days by the ESPA Training Academy.

With the emphasis on holistic wellbeing, the Nurture & Support experiences ultimately aim to help to aid the reduction of stress and anxiety while promoting inner calm.

Beginning with an initial consultation, the gentle rituals use only specially selected, suitable products.

Guests are initially guided through breath work and visualisation exercises to steady their breathing, create a sense of calm and ground them in the present moment – ensuring they get the most out of their experience. Crystals are also used – positioned on the relevant chakras, to help balance the mind, while the placement of the Red Jasper crystal in each hand is designed to remove negative energies, restore emotional equilibrium and provide a strong sense of stability.

“It’s so joyful to see the launch of the programme with ESPA Life at Corinthia,” said Julie Bach, executive director at Wellness for Cancer, “This will leverage a thorough understanding of an individual’s journey with cancer, focussing on wellness for people undergoing cancer therapy and survivorship. I commend Laura Vallati for her leadership in showing what is truly possible by weaving inspiration, evidence-based protocols and wellbeing throughout each ritual in the programme.”
