Andrew Gibson named VP of wellbeing for Accor Luxury

Andrew Gibson has been named vice president of wellbeing for Accor Luxury.
Gibson was previously vice president of spa and wellness for FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI) and its three luxury hotel brands – Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel – before AccorHotels’ acquisition of the company in July of this year.
Gibson said that the title of welbeing reflects a move to a wider look at wellbeing as a product for the entire hotel, rather than just as part of spa and fitness.
“When you put ‘wellbeing’ instead of ‘spa,’ a GM starts to ask: ‘What is that?’” Gibson explained.
In his new role, Gibson reports to Chris Cahill, who was named Accor’s CEO of luxury brands in July as part of the brand’s strategy to strengthen its luxury and upscale business.
Cahill is responsible for the strategy and global operations of Accor’s Luxury Brands, including Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel Legend, So Sofitel, Sofitel, MGallery by Sofitel, Pullman and Swissôtel.
Lindsay Madden-Naddeau, who was formerly director of spa integration and operations for FRHI, and Aldina Duarte-Ramos, who was global director of wellbeing product, luxury and upscale brands for Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery, will both continue to work in the wellbeing space under Accor’s Luxury division.
