Property developer, Arada, announces third mega Wellfit health club in UAE
Wellfit, UAE-based operator of vast health and fitness, sport and wellness clubs, has announced plans to open its third full-service, large-scale hub in the Emirates.
Wellfit Madar will be located in Sharjah within the new Madar family entertainment district, which is part of the Aljada mega project.
The entire project is being brought to fruition by property development company Arada which founded the Wellfit brand in 2021 to operate health clubs in its developments and has ambitious plans for its growth.
Set to open later this year, the new Wellfit club will be housed in a standalone, 65,000sq ft signature building designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Fitness facilities will include two large gyms – one for men and a women-only gym – fitted with Precor, Eleiko, Woodway and Life Fitness equipment, as well as group exercise studios, two indoor cycling studios and two interactive studios for children.
There will also be a 200m indoor running track on a mezzanine level, functional fitness areas and specially designed athletics zones with signature programming and a 250sq m, dedicated martial arts zone.
Outdoor facilities include three panoramic padel courts.
The health club will also have luxury locker rooms and wet areas, including saunas and steamrooms, as well as a café, a retailing and separate lounges for men and women.
When opened, Wellfit Madar will become the brands third large-scale hub, following two sites in Dubai, in Jumeirah Village Circle (75,000sq ft) and Meydan (50,000sq ft).
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, group CEO of Arada, said: “Wellfit is rapidly establishing itself as the UAE’s premier fitness and wellness brand, and this incredible new fitness hub is in line with our mission to enable healthy and active lifestyles for everyone in both Aljada and Sharjah.”
"We want to provide an extensive support system that motivates people to live well and feel fit," he said.
"We offer the latest fitness equipment, free access to personal trainers on sites, expert instructors and technology to monitor, measure and track performance."
Arada's plans for the Al Jada district also see the construction of an 18,000sq ft trampoline park that will be managed by Bounce, marking the Australian brand’s debut in Sharjah, alongside new public facilities to support growing visitor numbers at the destination.
