Sea Lanes opens following a partnership between The Eden Project and Canary Wharf Group

Sea Lanes Canary Wharf has officially opened
It offers year-round open water swimming, alongside saunas and social facilities
Sea Lanes Brighton, the Canary Wharf Group and The Eden Project have brought the project to fruition
Water quality is excellent according to EU Bathing Water Standards

Sea Lanes Canary Wharf has officially opened. The 50-metre, six-lane pool, which uses the natural water of the dock, offers year-round open water swimming in an iconic location.

Located within the revitalised Eden Dock, the project has been created by the team behind Sea Lanes Brighton in partnership with Canary Wharf Group and The Eden Project.

It will be operated by South Downs Leisure.

Designed for swimmers of all ages and abilities, the pool will cater primarily for lane swimming, while also acting as a stepping stone between traditional pool swimming and open water. The water quality is regularly tested against EU Bathing Water Standards and consistently rated excellent. Pay-as-you-go and membership options are available.

The site has been designed as a green, restorative oasis featuring lush planting, geodesic domes and thoughtful landscaping. It will also feature two saunas powered by 100 per cent renewable energy, a community clubhouse hosting year-round events and a curated food and drink offering.

Joe McNulty, director at Sea Lanes, says: “This is about so much more than swimming, it’s about creating a space where people can feel better, move more and reconnect with nature and each other. Bringing open water swimming into central London in this way is something truly special and we can’t wait to welcome people in.”

Stuart Fyfe, managing director, retail, leisure and hospitality at Canary Wharf Group, says: "We're thrilled to welcome Sea Lanes as the next bold step in enhancing our blue and green spaces, adding to our district's exceptional wellness offering."
