Rosewood and Yntegra Group co-developing private island retreat and Asaya spa in the Bahamas

Rosewood and Yntegra Group are working a new 124-acre private island resort in the Bahamas, opening in 2028
Featuring 33 beachfront suites and a 20,000 sq ft Asaya spa, the retreat will focus on Bahamian wellness traditions and holistic wellbeing
The spa will feature six treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy facility, an outdoor tranquil pool and a fitness centre

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Miami-based private investment company Yntegra Group to realise a brand new private island resort on Exuma, an archipelago of 365 islands in the Bahamas.

Launching in 2028, Rosewood Exuma will be situated on a 124-acre private island referred to as East Sampson Cay. The tropical retreat will feature 33 beachfront suites and a signature Rosewood Asaya spa designed to immerse guests in Bahamian wellness traditions.

“It’s immensely exciting to be partnering with Yntegra Group to bring Rosewood’s signature blend of luxury and authenticity to the breathtaking Exumas,” said Radha Arora, president of Rosewood.

“We’ve conceived Rosewood Exuma to offer a next-generation luxury experience – one that honours the quintessential character of this pristine archipelago and invites guests on a journey of discovery and adventure.”

Featuring six treatment rooms, the 20,000sq ft Asaya spa will be home to a hydrotherapy facility, an outdoor tranquil pool and a fitness centre. The wellness facility will be complemented by an outdoor sports centre featuring tennis, padel and pickleball courts, as well as watersports equipment.

In recent years, Rosewood has picked up the pace in the global rollout of its Asaya concept.

The brand launched in 2017 as Rosewood’s second in-house spa offering under the direction of Niamh O'Connell, Rosewood’s former group VP of guest experience and wellness.

It focuses on the intersections between physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and is founded on five pillars – Emotional Balance, Fitness and Nutrition, Physical Therapies, Skin Health and Community.

The group’s original concept, Sense, A Rosewood Spa brand, still forms a major part of the brand’s wellness portfolio (18 existing locations and three in development).

However, Asaya now includes a portfolio of eight spas and Rosewood is planning to ramp up its portfolio with a further 15 Asaya locations around the world, all the way from Miami and the Netherlands to South Korea.

Rosewood manages 34 luxury hotels, resorts and residences across Europe, North America, South America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, with 21 new properties under development.

Additional amenities

Beyond wellness, visitors to Rosewood Exuma will have access to a range of locally-inspired amenities in line with Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy. This will include six distinct F&B outlets, a fully serviced beach club, beach and pool bars and a private dining room, in addition to two marinas with slips, three pools and a signature Rosewood kids club.

Reflecting a shared commitment to positive impact, Rosewood and Yntegra will prioritise sustainable building practices throughout the development of Rosewood Exuma.

On the island, just 25 per cent of the 124 acres will be developed, and initiatives such as solar-powered energy sources will be implemented to minimise impact to the island
