Roberto Elias designs serene resort for Le Blanc Los Cabos
Following the success of the Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun, Palace Resorts has opened its second Le Blanc Spa Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, designed by architect Roberto Elias of Elias Estudio, with interiors by Francois Frossard of Francois Frossard Design.
The 373-bedroom resort includes four buildings that curve toward the ocean, and has been inspired by the unique flora and fauna of Los Cabos, as well as the climate, landscape and surrounding mountains.
“Our goal was to have the ocean take centre-stage from the moment you walk in,” explained Elias. “Just past the main entrance, you’ll stumble upon my personal favourite part of the resort: the terrace. This area will serve as the rooftop of the second building. Not only will this be the central hub or the connector to other areas of the property, but it will offer the best panoramic views in the house.”
The interiors are designed to be chic and modern, and aim to bring the outdoor setting inside.
“The stunning Sea of Cortez and hills that surround Los Cabos provide the ultimate palate for fresh and breathtaking decor,” said Frossard. “I’ve added some incredible elements and surprises, including a private villa on property with incredible panoramic views of the sea.”
The resort also features a 29,000sq ft (2,694sq m) spa created in partnership with Diane Mestre of Mestre & Mestre consultants.
The spa includes 25 treatment rooms and an extensive hydrotherapy area with hot and cold plunge pools, European sauna, herbal steamroom, sauna, thermal loungers, experience showers, whirlpool, chromotherapy and ice room, along with a relaxation lounge.
“Le Blanc draws its inspiration from a white serenity mood, with unique architectural flow, elegant interior design, state-of-the-art equipment and the genuine care of the staff,” said Mestre. “This includes spa advisors greeting the guests with a local welcome beverage of pitaya fruit, as well as spa butlers guiding each guest through the water journey facilities, offering body muds, cool cucumbers for the sauna, and baja fruit beverages to keep the guests hydrated.”
The Le Blanc brand is an adults-only, all-inclusive concept; the Los Cabos location also includes a new fitness centre with TRX training, spinning, aqua spinning, yoga, Pilates and a meditation area.
Gibran Chapur, executive vice president of Palace Resorts, said: “Le Blanc Spa Resort, Los Cabos, was designed with even the most discerning luxury traveller in mind. No detail was spared in its design, and we are confident in the quality, service and offerings behind the brand.”
