Four Seasons to reveal Balinese design revamp at Jimbaran Healing Village Spa
– Luisa Anderson
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay will reveal a new-look spa showcasing contemporary a Balinese design by The Fulcrum Agency and appearing to be suspended over water when it reopens at the start of May.
The spa's revamp will align with the original Balinese design concept by Kerry Hill Architects and will feature interiors by Design Studio SPIN.
The Healing Village Spa will 70 per cent bigger than before, covering 2,000sq m (21,500sq ft) and spread across two storeys.
Its philosophy will be based on seven ‘healing attributes’ to guide its focus and offerings – water, community, gemstones, light, sound, plants and love.
There will be 10 all-suite treatment rooms including six double rooms for couples that will have a private outdoor relaxation area, outdoor bathtub and shower.
An Illume Room will be used for colour therapy healing, inversion therapy and undulating massage will be sealed from outside sources of light, feature surround sound technology in order to provide and contain a heated quartz-sand bed made of crushed crystals.
A Longevity Garden, meanwhile, will move guests through a thermotherapy sequence to reduce inflammation, boost circulation, increase endorphins and aid muscle recovery.
There will also be a gym with ocean views on the spa's upper level and a daily program of innovative yoga and meditation sessions.
