A new masterplan vision designed by Broadway Malyan for Convida Suape, a new city in north east Brazil, has been launched by Moura Dubeux Engineering and Cone S/A.
The development will be an extension of Cabo de Santo Agostinho near Recife, the capital city of the State of Pernambuco. It will boast "substantial provision" for leisure activities.
Meanwhile, the proposals will also encourage a "compact urban model" for walkability, as well as sustainable approaches to learning, healthcare and employment.
Eco-friendly buildings will help enhance the area's natural landscape and river corridors, with an ongoing habitat-restoration programme incorporated into the masterplan vision.
Broadway Malyan practice director Margarida Caldeira said: "Convida Suape will set a benchmark for strategic urban development and city expansion projects in north eastern Brazil, now one of the fastest growth areas in the world."
