Conrad makes Philippine debut with hotel perched on top of lifestyle mall
Conrad Hotels has made its debut in the Philippines with the opening of Conrad Manila today, in the heart of the 42-acre Bay City development.
Perched on top of a high-end shopping, dining and lifestyle mall, the Conrad Manila features 347 bedrooms as well as a spa with six treatment rooms with soaking tubs, a private sauna and steam facilities. It also includes a fitness centre and a third-level, coral-shaped infinity pool, inspired by the coastal seas of the Philippines.
Designed by international design consultancy WOW architects, who are responsible for interiors as well, the hotel recently was awarded Best Hotel Development, Best Hotel Architectural Design and Best Hotel Interior Design at the Philippines Property Awards.
The architecture is inspired by the shipping vessels that ply the bay, and the hotel sits atop the two-level S Maison, a high-end retail complex, and is adjacent to SM Mall of Asia, one of the country’s largest malls, as well as 16,000-seat indoor stadium Mall of Asia Arena.
The rooms are designed with intuitive technology that, upon sensing motion in the room, the air-conditioning switches from energy-saving mode to cool and the curtains in the room will automatically open with ambient lighting set to match the time of day.
“An inspired destination, Conrad Manila will delight guests with intuitive and customised service, as well as provide them access to a world of connections and inspired experiences,” said John T.A. Vanderslice, global head, Conrad Hotels & Resorts.
