Hyphen & Co. integrate tech into P.volve's flagship fitness studio
Interior design firm Hyphen & Co. has worked with pre-hab fitness brand P.volve to create a new flagship studio in New York's Soho district that accommodates and integrates technology for workouts.
The 6,700sq ft (622sq m) studio houses a main exercise space capable of hosting 30 people that is equipped with an ergonomic floor to reduce the pressure on joints when people are training.
The studio is also equipped with technology for broadcasting and recording classes to be hosted on its website and plenty of storage room for exercise equipment.
Choreographed lighting is used to set the mood for each class and instructor, while phone holders on the studio mirrors and floor allow people to watch workouts to follow themselves.
A second private studio, accessed via a separate elevator, provides a space for instructors to work one-on-one with individuals.
Elsewhere, there is a refresh area with a custom marble vanity and backsplash unit and LED lighting, a visually striking check-in area designed with selfies in mind and a retail space to sell clothing and equipment from.
The project began in October 2018 and was completed a year later.
