Belgium's tallest building to open Deep Nature spa in July

by Helen Andrews | 15 Apr 2014

The Deep Nature spa in Belgium’s highest residential tower – the UP-site – is set to launch on 1 July this year in Brussels.

Set within the 140m high 42-storey tower, the 600sq m (6,458sq m) spa features five treatment rooms including a double suite for couples’ treatments, a scrub room, swimming pool, hot and cold baths, sensory showers, a hammam and a sauna.

Skin care products will be provided by Cinq Mondes.

The architects involved in the spa’s development are from the French company Lonsdale Western Design, led by its associate director, Dominic Desmons.

The tower and spa project began five years ago and a Deep Nature representative told Spa Opportunities that it expects between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors within its first year of trading.

Architects from Atenor Group partnered with urban architects Ateliers Lion from Paris and A2RC from Brussels to build the tower itself and the promenade along the banks of the canal. The development was made possible after a €2.3m (US$3.1m, £1.9m) investment from European and Brussels authorities was used to clear 95,000sq m (1,022,571sq ft) of what was previously industrial land for the project.

Deep Nature Spas has in the past worked with Lonsdale Western Design to create the spa at The Brando in French Polynesia and the Deva spa on the island of New Caledonia.
