Work is underway in the London Borough of Ealing on a landmark leisure centre to replace the old Gurnell Leisure Centre, which remained closed after COVID. The modern complex will include London’s third Olympic-sized swimming pool, a waterpark with slides, fitness studios, a climbing wall, a soft play area and a café. Four Seasons I, the first yacht by the luxury hotel and resort operator, will launch in 2026 with spa and wellness facilities on its fourth deck. The 95-key vessel will be jointly owned and operated by Four Seasons and Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings. A private luxury retreat – called Here, Maldives – will open in December this year, set across two natural islands in the Baa Atoll called Somewhere and Nowhere. Aman Rosa Alpina and its Aman Spa have opened in San Cassiano, in the heart of the Italian Dolomites following an extensive renovation. The ski resort, located in the UNESCO-listed region, was reimagined by Belgian-born designer Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston. Privately-owned hospitality company Nobis Hospitality Group will unveil a new Swedish wellness destination property called Hagastrand in Q4 this year, located next to the Brunnesviken lake in Stockholm’s royal park, Haga. When it opens, the property will join Marriott International’s luxury Autograph Collection and be known as Hagastrand, Autograph Collection. The Royal Borough of Greenwich will soon be opening its £80 million exemplar leisure centre in Woolwich town centre, which is central to the town’s regeneration. Bulgari Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with UAE real estate developer Eagle Hills to open a new property called Bulgari Resort and Mansions Abu Dhabi, in 2030. The Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) has unveiled its long-awaited new extension, a 14-storey tower that more than doubles the iconic modern art museum’s total space.
