Two Anantara Resorts slated for the Middle East
Minor Hotel Group will open the Anantara Durrat Al Bahrain Resort in 2018, in partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the investment arm of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Also in 2018, it will open the Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort in the United Arab Emirates, which is being developed by RAK Properties.
The Anantara Durrat Al Bahrain will be located in a large island development that has been created across a cluster of 15 islands. The 21sq km (8sq mile) master development is located on the southeast coast of Bahrain and will include 2,000 beachfront villas, 3,600 executive apartments and offices, parks and entertainment precincts, retail malls and restaurants, along with a 400-berth marina.
The Anantara Durrat Al Bahrain Resort will include 220 bedrooms, a gym, a kid’s club, a teen centre, and an Anantara Spa. Details for the spa have not yet been decided.
The 225-bedroom Anantara Mina Al ARab Ras Al Khaimah Resort is being developed in Mina al Arab, a mixed-use development separated from the mainland by a small lagoon that will also include a mix of residential and retail components.
The resort will feature Maldivian-style overwater villas, an extensive Anantara Spa and a health club with gym, aerobics room and yoga room. It will be located on a secluded, private beach that overlooks an eco reserve with mangroves. The area around the eco reserve will not be developed in order to keep it unspoiled, and it will become home to an eco-learning centre.
