Rosewood Doha towers based on underwater forms and coral formations

Rosewood Doha and Rosewood Residences Doha will create a new and differentiated benchmark for ultra-luxury hospitality in the region.
– Sonia Cheng

Arab Engineering Bureau have designed new hotel and residences towers for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts that are based on underwater forms and the local coral formations in Qatar's Lusail City.

The two adjacent towers will be wrapped in perforated white façades that will be both an aesthetic feature and a means of moderating solar gain.

According to Rosewood: "The organic architectural design approach is aimed at respecting the site and its surrounding Arabian Gulf waters, while promoting a harmony between human habitation and the natural world."

Housed in one of the towers, the hotel will accommodate 185 rooms and suites, while the development will also make incorporate 173 serviced apartments for longer-term stays and 300 residences that will be available to purchase.

Amenities will include a bistro, a lobby lounge, a coffee shop and deli, three restaurants, a cigar lounge and a lifestyle entertainment lounge.

There will also be a 1,500sq m (16,000sq ft) ballroom, a number of private event spaces, a spa and a fitness centre.

Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group, said: "Rosewood Doha and Rosewood Residences Doha will create a new and differentiated benchmark for ultra-luxury hospitality in the region."

Aman G. Shahani, CEO of project partner Arkaz Investments, said: "We are proud to showcase the rich culture of Qatar as well as our visionary and innovative ambition for the future through Rosewood’s uniquely sophisticated lens and become the new lifestyle destination for Lusail City and Qatar.”

The hotel and residences are scheduled to open in 2022.
