Famous German circus replaces live animals with cruelty-free holograms

Germany's Circus Roncalli has replaced its live animals with holograms to raise awareness of animal cruelty in the industry. The Circus, which has been touring since 1976, previously featured animals such as elephants and horses performing tricks and stunts for the viewing audience. Now the circus has done away with these animal performances, instead using 3D holograms projected into the ringmaster's circle.

British Land lands deal to develop £40m Drake Circus Leisure

Developer British Land has signed an agreement with Plymouth City Council to develop Drake Circus Leisure, a £40m leisure scheme next to its Drake Circus Shopping Centre in Plymouth city centre. Birmingham’s £450m Paradise Circus project moves forward

Birmingham’s £450m regeneration programme for its city centre has taken a step forward with a funding allocation of £63.1m approved for the first phase of the project. London mayor Boris Johnson has unveiled a new X-shaped pedestrian crossing at Oxford Circus, following the completion of a £5m scheme to reduce overcrowding.
