You can now access Marriott’s TakeCare wellness scheme

It’s great to see all the different ways properties are taking steps to make their location a happier and healthier workplace, such as having healthy snacks available, being involved in their local communities and promoting career development.
– Leah Evert, Marriott International global director of associate wellbeing.

Marriott has announced it will make elements of its TakeCare corporate wellness initiative available to the wider business community and other hotel, spa and wellness operators.

Established in 2010, TakeCare was initially developed to give Marriott staff ‘easy, efficient ways to improve their health’.

It offers a range of holistic programmes to support employees, including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, career development, sustainability and financial planning.

TakeCare is also available in app-form, called TakeCare Level30, a wellbeing challenge for both guests and Marriott employees, intended to promote healthy lifestyle choices.

Originally only Marriott-managed properties used the TakeCare certification programme, an expansion of its in-house scheme, but Marriott has now opened up access to this element of the TakeCare portfolio.

The certification is awarded to organisations by standards ranging from Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium, depending on the score achieved.

The certification assesses organisations by asking questions on six categories of wellbeing criteria: Leading Others, Wellbeing Champions and Activations, Wellbeing Challenges, Focus on Opportunity, Focus on Community, and Focus on Purpose.

“It’s great to see all the different ways properties are taking steps to make their location a happier and healthier workplace, such as having healthy snacks available, being involved in their local communities and promoting career development”, said Leah Evert, global director of associate wellbeing at Marriott International.
