Virgin Active opens fifth Bangkok club
International health and fitness operator Virgin Active has opened its fifth club in Bangkok, Thailand, as it continues its growth and presence in South East Asia.
Virgin Central Festival EastVille is 4,200 sq m (45,200 sq ft) across four floors, with one floor dedicated to strength and functional training and another for its two high-energy studios, which can be made into one larger studio measuring over 300 sq m (3,230 sq ft).
The club will be offering more than 200 classes each week, including Zuu, Pulse powered by Clubbercise and Zumba, among others.
Catering for locals living in eastern Bangkok, the club is the first in the region to offer Active Crew, a dedicated health and fitness programme for children between the ages of 7 to 15.
Christian Mason, Virgin Active South East Asia managing director said the company would continue to introduce high-end fitness to the South East Asian market.
He said: “The opening of Virgin Active EastVille is in line with our previously announced plans to accelerate our growth and presence in South East Asia, with an investment of £100m ($126.5m; €117m) to open another five more clubs within the next 12 months. There currently exists a huge opportunity to introduce high-end fitness clubs to the Asia market, and Virgin Active has the specialisation to capitalise and change the region’s fitness market with our clubs and service offerings.”
Virgin Active EastVille follows Empire Tower, EmQuartier, Westgate and Siam Discovery in Bangkok.
