The Well grows senior leadership team with two new appointments
Modern wellness brand The Well has announced two new hires; Doris Lopez as the VP of health and healing and Tara Cruz as the VP and GM of the brand’s spaces – The Well New York and The Well at Mayflower Inn.
As VP of health and healing, Lopez will help develop and execute health and wellness strategies across The Well’s locations, assisting in programme and business development opportunities.
A certified wellness and resiliency coach, Lopez previously served as the VP of health and healing at Canyon Ranch where she similarly built wellness strategies for all Canyon Ranch entities.
She also brings over 20 years of experience leading healthcare facilities for hospital systems and medical centres.
“I’m pleased to join The Well to further support its vision to empower people to take greater agency for their health,” commented Lopez.
“Through my previous experiences, I hope to bridge traditional medicine with Eastern healing to help expand our footprint within the industry and foster meaningful changes through the brand’s holistic, integrative approach – with a renewed focus on its medical offerings.”
Meanwhile, Cruz will help oversee the day-to-day operations as VP and GM at The Well New York, the 13,000sq ft holistic medical wellness centre, and The Well at Mayflower Inn, part of Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection in Connecticut.
She’ll help guide the team and manage the array of services, including private events, to ensure quality care and a hospitable experience for all guests.
Prior to her new appointment, Cruz was positioned at Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown as senior spa director for the Americas, where she oversaw nine spas within North America and managed three openings.
She was also previously director of spa and wellness at Cornelia Spa at Surrey Hotel on the Upper East Side, assistant director of spa at Tribeca’s Greenwich Hotel and director of education and openings for destination spas at Dolce Salon & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“With my passion for bringing together wellness and hospitality, I’m delighted to lead The Well in New York and Connecticut and continue growing its offerings to be the ultimate one-stop-shop for your health needs,” Cruz said.
“I look forward to guiding the team to support the brand’s larger mission to be the gold standard for wellness and change the way people think about their health.”
