The Spa at Bedford Lodge expands offering to include cancer-friendly treatments
The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel, Newmarket, UK, has expanded its treatment offering to include ESPA's Nurturing & Support rituals designed especially for guests currently undergoing cancer and post-cancer treatments.
Developed in partnership with not-for-profit foundation Wellness for Cancer (WFC), ESPA's Nurturing & Support line consists of a number of face and body treatments, including: the Be Nurtured facial, Be Nurtured massage and the Be Nurtured back, face and scalp massage, designed to help guests feel relaxed, supported and nurtured at a time when it is most needed.
With an emphasis on holistic wellbeing, the treatments feature safe techniques, devised with WFC, and are designed to reduce stress and promote inner peace. Each begins with a consultation, where guests are guided through visualisations and breathing exercises to create a sense of peace, while crystals are placed on the chakras to rebalance the mind.
The treatments are underpinned by therapist training offered by WFC. Attended by several therapists at The Spa at Bedford Lodge, the two-day course offers practical training and advice to give therapists an understanding of the impact cancer treatments have on the body.
Rebecca Randall, spa manager at The Spa at Bedford Lodge, said: "Treating guests undergoing treatment for cancer or post-treatment has not always been easy. Our guests come to us for TLC and to relax and unwind at a time of need, so it is important to cater to specific needs of each guest."
