Sustainable Spa Association launches global spa industry sustainability survey
– Lucy Brialey
The Sustainable Spa Association (SSA) is launching a first-of-its-kind global survey into sustainability in the spa industry.
The survey is designed for spa team members and has been created to gain insight into current global spa behaviour, levels of knowledge and implementation of sustainability concepts.
According to the SSA, the results will help to form the basis and focus of the organisation’s goals for the industry in the year ahead.
The UK-based SSA launched in Q2 2020 to make the path to sustainable business easy and accessible using bespoke education for spa members, as well as spreading awareness of environmental challenges and solutions through focused research, insights, initiatives and reporting.
“Launching this survey is the best way for us to reach out on a large scale and ask vital questions to spa operators,” said Lucy Brialey, SSA co-founder.
“Ultimately the SSA is here to be a practical and helpful resource and bridge the gap between sustainable concepts and spa businesses. The more people who take part the better we can listen, assess and respond in a way that will be productive and impactful.”
Sponsored by founding brand partner, Comfort Zone, the survey will be open for responses until 26 November 2020. Participants will gain early access to the results before they’re officially published in January 2021.

By entering the survey, entrants will also have the chance to win one of two rewards, either a hamper from Comfort zone or a 12 month Spa Operator membership with the SSA.
Winners of the rewards will be announced between 28 December 2020 - 1 January 202.
