Superman Ultimate Flight, a new thrill experience incorporating two upside-down twists and two vertical rolls, has been unveiled at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in California, US.
The amusement park worked with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment to develop the new ride, which boasts one of the largest inversions west of the Mississippi river.
Built by Premier Rides, Superman Ultimate Flight includes a multi-directional magnetic launch system and transports 12 passengers in a two-by-two formation across two coaches.
Riders travel at a maximum speed of 62mph (100kmph) as part of the experience, with two breaks added at "unexpected intervals" to add to the dramatic effect of the ride.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom president Dale Kaetzel said: "Superman Ultimate Flight definitely pushes the envelope in the thrill category.
"There has been tremendous buzz about this ride and our guests have been anticipating the debut. This ride will, no doubt, be the 'must-experience' attraction in Northern California."
