Six Senses opens reservations for first property in the UAE in Dubai with 60,000sq ft spa
In spite of the Iran war, Six Senses is now taking reservations for September at its first property in the UAE, Six Senses The Palm, Dubai, which will have a 60,000sq ft spa and longevity clinic.
IHG, which owns Six Senses, has a plan to translate the brand’s ‘barefoot luxury resorts’ into urban contexts with wellness-focused properties planned in major cities around the world over the next five years.
Six Senses London, which launched earlier this month in the UK, was the first of these major projects. Read recent interviews in Spa Business with Six Senses’ strategic advisor Anna Bjurstam and the London property’s GM, Nick Yarnell, about how the experience has evolved and the new members club Six Senses Place has been created.
Six Senses The Palm, Dubai
The new Dubai beachfront property will be located on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah with 61 suites and 172 privately-owned branded residences.
The property has been designed by Cape Town-based architecture and interiors firm SAOTA to incorporate regional building traditions. Stone and timber are paired with sand-toned finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows open out onto private terraces – some of which have pools.
The resort has been developed in collaboration with MAB Environmental Consultancy to meet sustainability requirements, as well as targeting LEED certification.
The 60,000sq ft wellness facilities include a longevity clinic, hydrotherapy areas, biohacking services, and an alchemy bar. There will also be indoor and outdoor spaces for yoga and meditation, with sessions led by in-house experts and visiting practitioners.
Families will be encouraged to explore the resort and surrounding landscape via the brand’s Grow With Six Senses programme, which comprises six dimensions of wellness: social, environmental, physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual. Activations based on these pillars serve as a way to anchor guests in the present moment, rather than spending time online.
The property will also offer guided wellness programming as well as hands-on ecology workshops at the brand’s signature Earth Lab facility.
Further Dubai development
A second residential project in Dubai is planned by Six Senses, with spaces dedicated to health and longevity. Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina is scheduled to open in 2028 in the world’s tallest residential tower, according to the brand.
