STA signs up 10,000th member and gets CIMSPA backing
The Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) has recruited its 10,000th member and had all of its qualifications endorsed by CIMSPA.
Dave Candler, chief executive of the STA, said reaching the 10,000 number was a “momentous moment”.
“I’m proud to have achieved this during my tenure as CEO – and four years ahead of my target for the organisation,” he added.
“Over the last 12 months, STA as an organisation has grown significantly, both in the UK and internationally. This is thanks, in part, to us partnering with several organisations including CIMSPA, ukactive, Birthlight, YMCA, the Scouting Association, Octonauts and Water Fitness.”
The former – CIMSPA – has just given its backing to all of the STA’s aquatic qualifications, including its Award in Swimming Teaching; Certificate in Swimming Teaching; Baby & Pre-School Award; Baby & Pre-School Diploma; and People with Disabilities.
Candler said the endorsement was “further credible affirmation” that the STA’s qualifications were “of the highest quality”.
STA head of aquatics, Kayle Burgham, added: “We are delighted that all our aquatics qualifications have been endorsed by CIMSPA, and I’m especially proud that our new Level 3 Baby & Pre-School Diploma has been recognised.”
