PayasUgym targets business travel market with ‘Unlimited’ pass offering

by Jak Phillips | 05 May 2015

PayasUgym is hoping to make woeful workouts in sub-standard hotel gyms a thing of the past with a new ‘Unlimited’ health club pass aimed at business travellers.

The lucrative business travel market is highly sought after as people who are frequently on the road for work tend to be high-net-worth individuals. Based on its customer research, PayasUgym believes the new Unlimited gym pass offering will prove highly appealing to the business travel sector, expecting it to account for about 20 per cent of business at run rate.

The Unlimited pass will provide business travellers who are unable to commit to a membership in one location with the option to ‘join’ the PayasUgym network and use any of the 2,200 clubs listed for a single monthly fee of £59. Pass holders can use any individual club a maximum of three times per calendar month and will also be able to access 400+ swimming pools, a number of spas and more than 20,000 fitness classes per week.

“With more than 2,200 participating venues and access to over 370,000 registered users, PayasUgym is the only company with the scale and geographic reach to offer a truly national multi-site ‘membership’ option to meet the needs of the modern business traveller,” said PayasUgym co-founder Neil Harmsworth.

“In doing so we hope to unlock this market for our partners and supplement the lead generation service we provide through our existing core ‘As You Go’ business.”

The Unlimited pass will also give customers the opportunity to visit ‘luxury’ venues once per club per month on top of their standard allowance, enabling high end boutique studios to provide limited access to their facilities during periods when classes and studios may not otherwise be full. The new pass will be offered in parallel to PayasUgym’s existing As You Go service, which targets new gym users and aims to help operators convert these customers into their own members.
