Patrizia Bortolin consulting on women’s wellness club concept Kintsugi in UAE

by Megan Whitby | 02 Mar 2023

UAE wellness brand Kintsugi has appointed consultancy Glowing Flow Wellness Specialists – founded by Patrizia Bortolin and Stefano Battaglia – to assist with its development.

Unveiled in 2022, Kintsugi is a women-only members club concept created to empower a community of women across the globe by helping them to heal, grow and embrace who they truly are.

The name Kintsugi refers to the Japanese method of repairing broken pottery with paint mixed with gold powder. A practice designed to showcase the beauty in the imperfect.

The brand is split into three branches; Kintsugi Space, a flagship private members’ club and wellness retreat due to open this year in Abu Dhabi’s Al Reem Island; Kintsugi Collections, a lifestyle range featuring aromatherapy, bodycare, habit journals, tea and yoga mats; and Kintsugi Wisdom, an educational series including a seasonal magazine and pop-up events schedule.

All are designed to work together to support and guide Kintsugi members to live more consciously.

Glowing Flow’s involvement

“Kintsugi is in the crucial stages leading up to its flagship opening later this year,” explained Bortolin, speaking exclusively to Spa Business.

Glowing Flow is working with the founders to deepen and expand Kintsugi’s concept, method and treatments, as well as coaching the brand’s executive board and training the on-site team.

“We’re also creating a marketing plan that suits the level of this vision, the exceptional opportunity it creates for women and the importance of the investment going into Kintsugi,” Bortolin adds.

“The plans for this meaningful brand are very exciting and the opening of Kintsugi Space in Abu Dhabi will set the foundation for a transformational movement that aims to become global.

“We feel honoured to share our deep understanding of integrated wellness and deep healing, as well as meaningful business experience."

Other spa and wellness companies previously involved in the brand’s inception so far include Raison d’Etre and Spa Connectors.
