– Li Wu
The Maybourne Hotel Group – manager of iconic global hotels including Claridges, The Berkeley and The Connaught – has partnered with wellness technology company Virtusan to enhance its guests' wellbeing.
The partnership will allow Maybourne to integrate multisensory technology into its hotel environments to promote the adoption of healthy wellbeing-focused habits. The goal is to help guests experience improved performance, greater happiness and a pioneering distinct approach to longevity.
Based in Switzerland, Virtusan blends science, technology and multi-sensory environmental experiences to reduce stress, improve sleep and elevate performance in all aspects of life.
The brand is guided by its scientific advisory board (SAB) of specialists which includes Dr David Sinclair (longevity), Dr Andrew Huberman (neuroscience) and Dr Shauna Shapiro (mindfulness).
Dr Li Wu, Virtusan founder and chair, unveiled the partnership during her keynote at the 17th annual Global Wellness Summit in Miami.
Wu said: "Together, we’re creating a world-first, fully integrated, immersive environmental experience for the Maybourne’s guests.”
Roland Fasel, COO of Maybourne Hotel Group, noted: "We recognise the paramount importance of health, wellbeing and longevity in our guests' lives.
“Striking the right balance is complex, and by harnessing the remarkable expertise of Virtusan's SAB and the latest evidence-based technological advancements, we’re confident in our ability to better cater to our guests' wellness needs at every stage of their health journey."
Maybourne manages some of the world's most iconic luxury hotels, including Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley in London, as well as The Maybourne Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and The Maybourne Riviera in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France.
The story behind Virtusan
Virtusan was founded in October 2020 by Wu – a dedicated scientist and researcher who is passionate about health and longevity.
When she turned 50, Wu realised the impact stress and workload had on her health after experiencing issues such as poor memory and insomnia. She then decided to join forces with renowned scientists to create a global solution for these health problems.
Their concept emerged during the pandemic, driven by a shared desire to help people focus on their health during this high-stress period.
