Five-star holistic spa debuts in the Maldives
Luxury resort and hotel operator Lux Resorts & Hotels has opened its new five-star Lux South Ari Atoll in the Maldives.
Located along two miles of beach and designed in a contemporary, beach-house style by P49 Deesign, the resort features 193 pavilions and villas, including 46 Romantic Pool Villas which each have private 7m (22ft) infinity pools.
The LUX Me spa features overwater treatment villas and takes a tailored, integrated approach to health and wellbeing.
Facilities include a traditional Chinese teahouse, a dedicated zone for new skin and body care experiences, and an extended lagoon-view relaxation area.
Holistic therapists will personalise guests’ treatments of choice using the range of LUX ME facial and body products created by aromatherapist Shirley Page.
Exclusive to Lux is the Zhengliao Chinese medicine treatment, a healing treatment which diagnoses individual needs and treats aches and pains.
Other signature treatments include the 10-hands massage; the Signature Men’s Facial; the Shirley Page Absolute Relaxing Massage which uses organic essential oils, head massage, pressure points and deep tissue drainage; and Balinese Massage, which combines slow pressure movements with stretching.
The Zen wellness pavilion accommodates a range of alternative wellbeing activities including yoga, meditation, pilates, tai chi and qigong, all of which are overseen by an expert wellness concierge.
In conjunction with London-based fitness group, SP&Co, on-site trainers work with functional fitness methods to optimise personal strengths and weaknesses; guests are invited to take a complimentary Body Balance Analysis which will enable a tailored programme to be created.
There are also healthy menu choices available on resort, including vegetarian and vegan menus, while restaurant and buffet menus follow the same principles.
