Littledown Centre goes large with 200-station gym upgrade
Bournemouth’s Littledown Centre is the proud beneficiary of a £1.7m renovation as operator BH Live bids to get even more people off the couch and taking part in swimming, fitness and sport.
The new development saw Bournemouth Borough Council provide £1m and BH Live contribute the rest, to expand the facilities at Littledown by creating two multi-purpose fitness studios and extending the gym.
More than 200 fitness stations were supplied by Life Fitness – incorporating cardiovascular and strength equipment, Synrgy and functional fitness zones – with the goal of encouraging more people of all ages and abilities to benefit from an active lifestyle.
“Bournemouth has some of the UK’s best health and fitness facilities and more people than ever now go to Littledown Centre to enjoy a regular health and wellbeing top-up,” said Bournemouth Borough Council member Lawrence Williams.
“We’re delighted to be working with BH Live to make Bournemouth’s centres even more appealing and beneficial for the local community.”
