Les Mills enters commercial office to get workers fit
Global fitness brand Les Mills has teamed up with a commercial property company to offer office employees the chance to get fit while at work – the first time the brand has been involved in such a project.
Workers can take part in Les Mills virtual group exercise sessions in Bruntwood’s Trafford House office building in Manchester.
The building’s ground floor has been renovated and is a dedicated social and wellness area. It has a kitchen, showers and break-out areas as well as a conference room where the Les Mills classes are streamed over lunchtime, and before and after work on a large screen.
Dave Alstead, Les Mills UK customer experience manager, said: “We are really excited to be involved in this Bruntwood project. Our global mission is to get people more active but we understand that people have very busy lifestyles nowadays so a lunchtime group workout can be a perfect time to fit in getting fit.
"It’s also a great way to bond with your colleagues and give you energy for your busy afternoon at work. This is a first for us, but we are definitely looking at creating more of these on-site virtual group exercise hubs in office buildings all over the UK.”
Peter Crowther, Bruntwood managing director, said: “Recent trends have demonstrated there is increasing demand for more communal and collaboration space, as well as a focus on wellbeing. The Les Mills virtual group exercise space really is added value for those that work in Trafford House. We hope the customers of Trafford House really enjoy their Les Mills virtual classes.”
Les Mills classes include Bodypump, Body Combat, and Body Balance, and workouts are licensed by 17,500 partners in 100 countries around the world.
