Lego Movie Experience takes centre stage at Legoland California
The Legoland California Resort, US, has capitalised on the box office success of The Lego Movie by unveiling the Lego Movie Experience, which offers visitors a behind the scenes look at the 3D animated adventure.
The film – starring Will Ferrell, Elizabeth banks, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman – grossed more than $200m (€145m, £120m) in its first two weeks in the worldwide box office and has been met with critical acclaim.
The new attraction gives guests the chance to step onto a Lego soundstage, as well as view movie footage, interviews with the cast and more than 1,200 Lego models – made out of a sizeable three million Lego bricks.
Star of The Lego Movie Jadon Sand was on hand to open the attraction last week and spent the entire day touring the new offering.
“I actually feel like I’m back on the set of the movie. This is awesome,” Sand said. “It was really an incredible experience to work on such a cool movie, side-by-side with Will Ferrell and even more so, don’t tell Will, but side-by-side with these awesome Lego models!”
The Legoland California resort is operated by Britain’s Merlin Entertainments PLC and includes Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland Water Park and Legoland Hotel.
