Langham gears up to open luxury hotel and Chuan-branded TCM spa in Jakarta
– Gaylord Lamy
Langham Hotels and Resorts is scheduled to open The Langham, Jakarta in Indonesia on 9 September 2021, representing the brand's first property in South East Asia.
“There’s been a tremendous amount of anticipation and interest about The Langham in this dynamic city over the years, and we’re beyond thrilled that guests may soon experience the legendary Langham service in this stunning hotel in a month’s time,” said Gaylord Lamy, hotel GM.
Featuring 223 guest rooms including an elegant Presidential Suite, the location will be home to one of Langham’s signature Chuan Spas, billed to provide luxury wellness therapies and treatments based on the ancient healing philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), inspired by nature’s five elements.
The 670sq m (7,211sq ft) spa will be home to private treatment rooms as well as a fitness centre and Jakarta’s highest indoor infinity pool with spectacular views of the city.
When the hotel opens in September, guests will be welcomed into the destination by a 10-metre-high lobby with intricate interior detailing and Lasvit chandeliers.
The destination is strategically located within the prestigious new complex of District 8 at Sudirman Central Business District with easy access to the city’s financial, cultural and entertainment centres.
The Langham Club lounge on the hotel’s 59th floor will be a private haven for guests who prefer a discerning level of comfort with unobstructed views of Jakarta City. This will include a writer’s corner, reading library and private arrival and departure facilities with dedicated butlers for personalised service.
The Langham Jakrat will also encompass 2,100sq m (22,604sq ft) of flexible space and four dining concepts – including a celebrity chef restaurant masterminded by Tom Aikens, the acclaimed British chef who has guided his restaurants to accolades by the Michelin Guide.
