Great Wolf Lodge adds new children's spa to Ohio waterpark
The Great Wolf Lodge indoor waterpark in Sandusky, Ohio, US, has opened a new ice-cream themed spa dedicated to children.
Part of a US$2m (1.6m euro, £1.3m) redevelopment of the attraction, Scooops Kid Spa has been designed for children aged between four- and 15-years old offering manicures, pedicures and facials over a 500sq ft area.
Sarah Wysong, general manager at Great Wolf Lodge, said: "Adding a Scooops Kid Spa here in Sandusky has been on our wish list for quite some time.
"It is such a fun activity for our youngest guests and really captures some of life's sweetest moments."
Scooops Kid Spa is open to resort guests as well as local families and is the latest in a number of new spas being created for children and their families.
Last month, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach in Florida, US, launched a new Lil' Spa-branded spa facility for its younger guests, while the Shanti Maurice resort in Mauritius has made its pop up spa for children a regular item.
• The emergence of spas becoming "a family affair" was identified among the top 10 spa trends for 2012 in SpaFinder's annual forecast report.
