GOCO CEO Schweder to wed firm's group director of design Leung
The spa industry is about to have a new dynamic duo, with GOCO Hospitality founder and CEO Ingo Schweder set to marry GOCO group director of design Josephine Leung next month in Bangkok.
The pair met in 2003, “literally on the job,” Schweder told Spa Opportunities, “at one of the most stunning hotels and spas in Hong Kong, the Mandarin Oriental Landmark.” Leung was working there for Aedas as the project architect and Schweder was group director in Mandarin’s headquarters.
They stayed in touch and reconnected in 2011 when Leung was working for a private developer on a large-scale wellness community in Suzhou, China, and contacted Schweder to discuss a potential collaboration.
Schweder proposed at the Mandarin Oriental New York, where general manager and friend Rudy Tauscher organised a corner table at the restaurant, with views over Central Park and Columbus Circle.
Shortly after the engagement, Leung moved to Bangkok and began working for GOCO.
“We now feel so lucky to be 24/7 together and would not have it any other way,” the couple said on their wedding website.
