Dusit to open first Deverana-branded resort in India
Dusit Bird Hotels is gearing up to open the first luxury retreat under the Dusit Deverana brand, in New Delhi, before the end of the year.
A partnership between Thailand-based Dusit International and the Bird Group of India, Dusit Deverana is described by the company as a sanctuary to counter the demands of the ordinary world and is aimed at guests seeking a balance between success and quality of life.
The three hectare, 50-key site will have a 102 metre long swimming pool and the Dusit Group’s signature Deverana spa - featuring reflection pools, a fitness centre, yoga pavilion and Zen Court.
“India has always been a key market for us and we are confident our new hotels and resorts opening in India will quickly establish itself as one of the leading hotels in the city,” says Mr Octavio Gamarra, senior vice president of Dusit International.
More development is already lined up for the brand, with two more sites in India - Jaipur and Rishikesh - set to open in 2014. Next year a 300-room resort will open in Hainan, China, in a hot spring area, featuring outdoor bathing pools and bathrooms supplied with fresh springwater. This is a unique wellness retreat targeting the MICE market.
