Dr Burgener opens second Haute Couture spa

by Jane Kitchen | 12 Oct 2016

A second Pauline Burgener Haute Couture spa has opened at the iconic Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel located on the French Riviera.

The resort’s spa now includes a dedicated analysis and treatment room for the Haute Couture concept, which focuses on identifying the unique qualities of each person’s skin, and is based on the idea that skin evolves over time.

The Pauline Burgener Haute Couture customised treatment includes an in-depth skin diagnosis, including an individual genetic pattern defining the heredity ageing predispositions of the skin. Using special equipment in the temperature and humidity-controlled room, depth of wrinkles, skin capillary quality, hydration, lipids and melanin are all measured.

The results of the skin diagnosis are then sent to the Dr Burgener Laboratory in Switzerland as well as dermatology experts in Besancon University in Francie; a personalised skincare programme is then proposed, and a made-to-measure therapy box is created in Switzerland and sent to the customer.

The treatment then continues for a programme of four consecutive cycles of three months each, with a full re-analysis of the skin taking place every three months.

“Skincare and wellness have been a personal passion of mine since the beginning,” said Dr Pauline Burgener, founder of the skincare brand. “As a doctor in biology, I have spent years working in high-tech skin advancements and remedies...Understanding specific needs is extremely important to us.”

Dr Burgener also operates a flagship Haute Couture spa in Switzerland, and is slated to open Haute Couture treatment rooms at the Four Seasons in New York and Moscow. Additional spas in hotels in Dubai and London are also in the pipeline.
