Swiss longevity brand Clinique La Prairie (CLP) has inked a deal with Montara Hospitality Group to operate a resort at Tri Vananda – a purpose-built wellness community in Phuket, Thailand.

Tri Vananda, envisioned as a haven for holistic wellbeing, has been in the works since 2018 and is backed by a significant investment of THB 6,600 billion (€177.3 million, US$199.7 million, £149.2 million).

Spearheaded by Montara, the developer behind the established Trisara Resort and Spa in Phuket, the 232-acre project is poised to “redefine wellness living”.

As part of the current phase of development, 30 biophilic-designed residential units are already underway, with further plans for a 40-villa resort operated by CLP. The resort's offering will focus on functional and integrative medicine, nutrition, cognitive health and mindfulness.

Montara is working with design firms Habita Architects, Arsom Silp Institute of the Arts and P49 Deesign to realise Tri Vananda.

Industry veteran Sue Harmsworth lent her expertise as a health and wellness advisor, while Amy McDonald, from Under A Tree consultancy, played a significant role in the project's inception by providing comprehensive conceptualisation, feasibility analysis, and initial design development during its early stages.

The CLP approach

With medical care as one of the four pillars of its holistic approach, CLP combines medical testing, specialist consultations and medical therapies in all its programmes, offering highly personalised care, science-driven treatments and long-term support to its clientele.

"CLP's longstanding expertise in longevity and its innovative approach makes it the ideal partner to achieve and realise our vision of establishing Tri Vananda as the gold standard for wellness hospitality in Asia," said Kittisak Pattamasaevi, CEO of Montara.

"We recognise that there is a global stress epidemic at hand, and the negative effects it has on our individual health and wellbeing, and as a global community. Tri Vananda will be a place for people of all ages to heal, grow and learn."

CLP’s rapidly expanding portfolioLaunching in 2025, Tri Vananda will encompass CLP’s fourth Health Resort.

Until recently, the brand’s only Health Resort was its flagship in Montreux, Switzerland. In late March, CLP launched its first-ever international Health Resort in Anji, China.

It will be followed by another in Amaala, the wellness-focused Saudi giga project, in 2025.

Since 2020, the brand has been gradually rolling out city-based satellite sites – known as Longevity Hubs. The urban outposts have opened in Madrid, Bangkok, Doha, Taipei and most recently, Dubai, at the newly-launched One&Only One Za’abeel.

CLP has an ambitious global rollout strategy which involves opening up to 50 properties worldwide.

Resort facilities

Once completed, Tri Vananda will feature 70 residential villas and a CLP Health Resort comprising comprehensive medical and wellness facilities. It will be home to a medical centre equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, an active movement centre with an Olympic-size swimming pool, a holistic wellbeing centre, a wellness restaurant and a mindfulness centre.

Tri Vananda’s first phase of development was completed in 2021 and saw the launch of The Pru Jampa Community House, which serves as a community gathering space for all ages.

Pru Jampa features a bar and lounge, a Michelin Green Star-awarded restaurant, a swimming pool, an Active Movement Center with Biocircuit AI technology by Technogym, a community garden, an outdoor playground and function areas.

Meanwhile, Tweenies, a club dedicated to fostering an interest in pre-teens and teens to lead a wellness-centric lifestyle, helps younger generations understand the importance of health and mindfulness at an early age.

About MontaraEstablished by the Pattamasaevi family, Montara works with experienced hoteliers to invest in hospitality platforms that connect investors, lifestyle travellers and hoteliers.

The group owns one Michelin-starred Pru and Michelin Green Star Jampa, Michelin recommendation Seafood at Trisara, plus Praya Dining in Bangkok.

Montara's portfolio of properties also includes Trisara and Bangkok's only river mansion boutique hotel, Praya Palazzo.
