CIMSPA creates digital hub to support the physical activity sector

By working together, we can help each other to emerge from this crisis in a strong position
– Tara Dillon

A new digital hub has been set up to help individuals and businesses in the physical activity sector deal with the effects of the coronavirus crisis.

The hub, launched by the Chartered Institute for the Management for Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), offers advice for those who have been impacted by the pandemic and is freely available to anyone working in the sector. To access the hub, click here.

The hub's content has been divided into three separate categories – individual workers, businesses and the sector as a whole – with the aim of providing a single destination for the sector to access a range of information.

For individuals, the resources include advice on financial and legal support, as well as support with professional development, mental health and wellbeing.

For businesses, the hub offers a wealth of information on government and financial support.

The advice targeting the sector as a whole includes updates on how CIMSPA is working with other industry organisations – such as Sport England, ukactive, Community Leisure UK and DCMS – to ensure the sector receives the support it needs.

Called "Stronger Together", the hub has received support and free resources from several CIMSPA partners, including Optimum Nutrition, My PT Hub and Future Fit training.

“This is a time for the whole sector to come together and support each other," said Tara Dillon, CEO of CIMSPA.

"We are an incredibly adaptable and innovative collective of people and organisations and I know that, by working together, we can help each other to emerge from this crisis in a strong position.

"Stronger Together is our way of harnessing the expertise, knowledge and resources of the wider sector, making it available to everyone who needs it.”

CIMSPA is now inviting suppliers, training providers and others within the sector to come forward with any offers and become an official CIMSPA Stronger Together supporter.

The industry body is especially interested to hear from organisations that can offer online CPD, video masterclasses, webinars, ebooks and access to digital platforms and support systems.
