Anne McCall Wilson launches strategic advisory firm
Anne McCall Wilson, former head of global spa operations at Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI) has launched her own boutique strategic advisory consultancy, McCall & Wilson. The new firm will serve global spa, wellness and hospitality businesses.
Industry insiders had been speculating about McCall Wilson’s next move following the recent announcement that Andrew Gibson, former group director of spa at Mandarin Oriental, is to replace her at Fairmont Raffles in the role of vice president of spa and wellness.
McCall & Wilson will provide trendspotting and insight into business opportunities, as well as counsel in vision and strategy. It will also offer concept and design/brand development and feasibility.
From an operational standpoint, the consultancy will offer fact-based business reviews, as well as giving advice on profit and revenue generation and brand enhancement.
“We connect the creative vision of designers with the business reality of spas to ensure the right size of investment for the owner and the maximum experience per square meter for guests,” McCall Wilson told Spa Business.
Partner and husband, Steve Wilson, will contribute his experience as a former general manager of full and limited service hotels. Wilson holds a degree in business science and has been an officer and board member of Kiwanis, Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.
During her 12 years at FRHI, McCall Wilson was responsible for the development of more than 50 projects in 20 countries, she also created three luxury spa brands for Fairmont, including the award winning Willow Stream Spa, while overseeing the operation of 37 spas and the launch of a further 20. She was a founding board member of the Global Spa and Wellness Summit (GSWS) and chair of its 2011 conference in Bali.
