AlSol Hotels partners with Babor for first branded spa
AlSol Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Aachen, Germany-based spa and skincare product manufacturer Babor to create the first Babor-branded spa at the AlSol Tiara Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. AlSol’s newly renovated Sanctuary Spa at Sanctuary Cap Cana will also operate exclusively under the Babor brand.
Christopher Hulbach, director of international sales for Babor, told Spa Opportunities that Palma del Sol, the company's distributor for the Dominican Republic and the State of Quintana Roo in Mexico, has been working with hotels for the last four years to develop an exclusive spa solution with Babor products.
"Babor is already present in many of the leading hotels worldwide, and part of the marketing strategy for the Caribbean and Mexico is to bring both cultures – hotel spas and a top brand – together," said Hulbach.
Hulbach said that the project at the Tiara "will open up new windows of opportunity to develop or convert high-end hotel spas into top-of-the-line Babor Signature Spas."
"Palma del Sol is always looking for the right hotel-spa combination of quality and require brand exposure, bringing these associations into win-win situations for both parties," said Hulbach.
Carlos Fernandez del Pino of Palma del Sol told Spa Opportunities that the brand-new, five-star AlSol Tiara Cap Cana "complies with our interests to co-develop (the first Babor Signature Spa).
"AlSol Tiara ownership and hotel management company has a clearly defined strategy of where their customers should come from and what they require, thus making it a perfect match to develop a branded spa with the quality that Babor has proven to deliver to the luxury segment of the market," he continued.
The 3,606sq ft (335sq m) Babor Signature Spa will feature six indoor treatment rooms, two outdoor treatment cabanas, two couples suites, a pool, steam room and sauna, hot and cold whirlpools, a fitness centre, retail boutique and beauty salon, and features views of the marina. Babor beauty treatments including massages, facials and body treatments will be available.
“The Babor Signature Spa will be synonymous with wellness and comforts,” said Emely Vargas, spa director at AlSol Tiara Collection Cap Cana. "We'll provide a balance between a healthy mind, body and soul."
The newly renovated 20,000sq ft (1,858sq m) Sanctuary Spa includes an indoor spa suite, four outdoor massage suites, a hydrotherapy circuit, two couples suites, a fitness centre, yoga and pilates studio and a beauty salon.
