Ritz-Carlton to launch its largest superyacht with luxury spa and gym
Ritz-Carlton is gearing up to launch its third superyacht – Luminara – in July. The vessel will be the largest to date.
The ship’s exclusive Ritz-Carlton Spa will be located on the fourth deck, alongside the fitness studio and a barber and salon.
Plans for the spa show treatment rooms with private terraces overlooking the sea, as well as separate saunas and steamrooms for men and women and a relaxation room.
The products slated for use in the spa include ESPA and 111Skin. SpaVision has also supplied a range of spa equipment and furniture from leading brands, including treatment tables by Living Earth Crafts, barber seating by Maletti and the PediSpa Curve by Gharieni.
There will be two swimming pools aboard the yacht – an infinity pool on deck five and a main pool on the top deck (10).
Luminara also has 226 suites with private ocean-view terraces, five restaurants and seven bars.
Luminara is the largest of three vessels operated by Ritz-Carlton, with 452 passenger capacity. The other two are Evrima (298), which launched in 2022 and Ilma (448), which had its maiden voyage in September 2024. Both also have Ritz-Carlton Spas.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is owned by Oaktree Capital Management, with a 55 per cent stake, the Scheinberg family's Mohari Hospitality (30 per cent) and the government of Singapore (15 per cent), it offers voyages in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America and the Caribbean.
There are eight to 10 ships planned for the next five to 10 years for multiple Marriott brands.
The next new build for the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection could come in 2027 or 2028.
The inaugural Luminara cruise will leave Monte Carlo on 3 July for seven nights stopping in Tuscany, Florence, Pisa, Portofino and Portoferraio before finishing in Rome. The fares for this itinerary over seven nights start at €11,250 (US$12,781, £9,600).
Luminara has a schedule of cruises winding through countries such as Italy, Greece, Spain, Croatia and the Canary Islands until November. The ship will then start a series of tours around the Indian Ocean.
Cruises will run through Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 in and around Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo before a series of trips to ports across Alaska and Canada in between May and September 2026.
