Queensyard prepares to open its doors at vast Hudson Yards development

by Andrew Manns | 12 Mar 2019

Queensyard – a British-American dining concept created by restaurant company D&D London – is set to open on 15 March at the expansive Hudson Yards development in Manhattan, New York.

Featuring interiors outfitted by American design studio CetraRuddy, the 11,142 sq ft (1,035 sq m) space will be situated on the fourth floor of Hudson Yards' retail building, and will provide scenic views of the property's key landmarks, including the Heatherwick Studio-designed Vessel sculpture and the Shed arts venue.

Owen Sullivan will serve as Queensyard's executive chef and mixologist Jeremy Le Blanche will oversee the bar's drinks menu.

Speaking on the opening, Des Gunewardena, CEO at D&D, said: "We are incredibly excited to be opening our second restaurant in New York and to become part of such a significant new neighbourhood in the city.

"We think Queensyard will offer something for everyone – a sophisticated, yet accessible, dining and drinking experience with unprecedented views of Manhattan's skyline."

Queensyard will form part of Hudson Yards' dozens-strong collection of on-site dining outlets.

"Restaurants are the soul of a neighbourhood where people gather with friends and family, celebrate life's milestones, start their day with a cup of coffee, or relax after a day of work," said Kenneth A. Himmel, president and CEO of Related Urban, a division of Related Companies, Hudson Yards' developer.

He continued: "The collection of restaurants at Hudson Yards was curated to meet the varied dining needs of the residents, employees, and visitors who will share our exceptional culinary experiences."
