Trafford Centre hotel approved
Peel Holdings has been given a green light to build a £30m hotel at The Trafford Centre in Manchester.
The four-star facility will comprise 210 bedrooms, a 200-seat restaurant with a bar, a 500-seat banquet/conference area and meeting rooms.
Fitness facilities will include a swimming pool for guest-only use, as well as a spa and a gym.
Environmental aspects to be incorporated are living grass roofs, a sustainable drainage system including a pond and additional planting.
Peter de la Perrelle, director of Peel Leisure, said: “We are extremely pleased with this result. The hotel will be the first four-star hotel at The Trafford Centre and will add a quality facility for the benefit of not only the centre itself but for its neighbouring communities.”
The firm is in discussions with contractors on how to take the development forward.
