The Barnes Foundation is to unveil its new 93,000sq ft (8,640sq m) home in Philadelphia, US, tomorrow (19 May), which will house the organisation's extensive art collection.
Tod Williams and Billie Tsien Architects designed the two-storey "campus", which is set amid a 4.5-acre (1.8-hectare) site on the north of the city's Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The building houses 12,000sq ft (1,115sq m) of exhibition space replicating the scale and proportion of The Barnes Foundation's original home in Merion.
Facilities also include a 5,000sq ft (465sq m) special exhibition gallery to feature regular temporary exhibitions, as well as two in-gallery classrooms and a 150-seat auditorium.
Dr Bernard C Watson, chair of the Barnes Foundation board of trustees, said: "Now, after a long and determined effort to secure the future of the Barnes Foundation, we look forward to welcoming the public to our accessible new campus in Philadelphia.
"The time has come for people to see what we offer, and take advantage of this wonderful institution and its collection and educational programming, which Dr Barnes intended for all people from all walks of life."
