Grand Hyatt Goa opens in India
A 35,000sq ft (3,252sq m) Shamana Spa is to open later this year at the Hyatt Hotels Corporation's (HHC) new Grand Hyatt Goa hotel, which has been unveiled in India.
Located overlooking Bambolim Bay, the new hotel's spa will feature 19 treatment suites when open - including 11 single, six double and two royal suites, offering indigenous therapies based on South East Asian philosophies.
The Shamana Spa takes its name from the Sanskrit word for "balance" and aims to create a "balance between wellbeing and lifestyle" for its guests.
International product houses to be offered at the spa will include Natura Bisse's Diamond range; Voya's organic seaweed products; Puri Alchemy; and India-based Iraya.
Other facilities include a 25m indoor lap pool and a 2,000sq ft (186sq ft) gym supplied by Life Fitness, as well as a 1,300sq ft (121sq m) lifestyle studio for yoga and Pilates.
Meanwhile, HHC is also planning to launch two new properties in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates later this year, both of which are set to incorporate spas.
Hyatt At Capital Gate will boast the 823sq m (8,859sq ft) Rayana Spa concept based on the surrounding Arabian desert, which will offer four single spa suites and one double suite.
Each suite will provide guests with a whirlpool bath, while a relaxation room will overlook a 222sq m (2,390sq ft) pool terrace with outdoor swimming pool and pool bar.
Rayana Spa manager Melissa O'Neil will create a selection of indigenous treatments at the facility, while June Jacobs products will also be used.
Meanwhile, the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is to incorporate a 1,870sq m (20,129sq ft) Atarmia Spa with nine suites; a hair salon; and manicure/pedicure facilities.
International product houses to be used at Atarmia Spa will be provided by Kerstain Florian and Natura Bisse, with treatments to be inspired by Arabian history.
