Anantara will expand into the Seychelles in Q4 2020, following a rebrand of the iconic Maia Luxury Resort & Spa by architects Bill Bensley and Lek Bunnag.

Located on Mahé, the largest of the Seychelles islands, Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas will consist of a 30-villa resort complemented with a luxury spa, set amongst 30 acres of forest garden.

Located in the resort’s fragranced gardens, the Anantara Spa will be home to three open-air treatment rooms dedicated to rejuvenation and restoration.

The resort is regarded as one of Bensley’s favourite projects, with its design inspired by Asian architecture, using distinctive thatching, carved natural stone, precious woods and delicate metalwork.

“Without question, Anantara Maia will become one of Anantara’s flagship properties,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Minor International, parent company of Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas.

Additional resort facilities include a main resort swimming pool, a fully-equipped fitness centre with Technogym Excite equipment, paddle boarding, snorkelling and kayaking.

The new opening represents the luxury brand’s launch in the archipelago, complementing its existing collection of Indian Ocean resorts in the Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka.
