50,000sq ft sports complex for new Miami hotel
A 50,000sq ft (4,645sq m) sports, lifestyle and entertainment complex will be a feature of the new 369-room JW Marriott Marquis Miami when it opens in October.
The facility - on the hotel's 19th and 20th floors - will include a 10,000sq ft (929sq m) multi-use arena which can convert into an NBA approved basketball court, a full- size tennis court or an event space. Also on offer will be a Jim McLean Golf School with individual tuition, virtual golf simulators, two putting greens and a pro shop; a pool deck with a heated pool and whirlpool; a billiard room; a virtual bowling alley; a 4,500sq ft (418sq m) Met 2 fitness centre featuring Technogym equipment; and a full-service Rik Rak spa and beauty salon.
The complex will be shared by guests at the 44-room Hotel Beaux Arts Miami, situated above the Marquis Miami. In addition to its sports, lifestyle and entertainment offer, the 41-storey JW Marriott Marquis Miami will feature a 20,000sq ft (1,858sq m) grand ballroom, as well as Miami's first DB Bistro Moderne, a French/American restaurant concept by Daniel Boulud. Further dining options include a main restaurant, a casual cafe providing an international menu, and a gourmet coffee bar.
The JW Marriott Marquis Miami is scheduled to open October and the Hotel Beaux Arts Miami in November.
