Birdair Inc to build new Metrodome roof

Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission (MSFC) has selected Birdair Inc to replace the roof of the Metrodome stadium in Minneapolis, US.
Amherst, New York-based Birdair Inc, which constructed and installed the venue's original inflatable roof, was revealed to be the only bidder for the project. MSFC expects that the cost of the new roof to be US$18m (£11.1m), although additional costs could push the total cost of the scheme up to US$25m (£15.4m).
It is hoped the work will be completed by 1 August. The former Metrodome roof collapsed in December following heavy snowfall.
