Heron Tower sky bar plans unveiled
Property firm Heron International has unveiled plans to open a new restaurant and sky bar at the top of Heron Tower, set to become one of the tallest buildings in London.
The 46-storey development, which is currently under construction, has been designed by architect Kohn Pedersen Fox and will be 230m (755ft) tall. Due for completion in March 2011, the tower will boast a 13,423sq ft (1,247 sq m) restaurant and sky bar with external terraces on floors 38-40, which will be located 175m (574ft) above the ground offering views across London.
A dedicated entrance on Bishopsgate will provide public access to the venue, with two lifts travelling directly to the 39th floor restaurant and bar entrance. An operator is being sought by Ted Schama of property agent Shelly Sandzer. Heron International director Lisa Ronson said: "Heron Tower will be the number one business address in the City of London, the financial capital of the world.
"As such it will need to cater for a wide range of tastes and be open 18 hours a day to meet the needs of those who are working in the financial capital of the world, straddled between US and Asia time zones."
